You can visit North East Skills at any time. With so much to see we offer special staggered slots for big groups so everyone gets a chance to try the interactive features. We recommend visiting the event for approximately two hours.
Get inspired with great interaction 
Loads of the companies will be there wanting you to get involved in their demonstrations and activities. Many of them are running competitions so you can have fun and try to win some great prizes. Interactivity

Newcastle College encouraged visitors to do battle for brilliant prizes and try new skills including bricklaying, nail painting, blood pressure testing and a renewable energy challenge.
Science fiction or science fact? Visitors tried the brain-reading headset and raced a radio controlled car by raising their eyebrows with IBM who also brought along Say-it Sign-it (SiSi) an instant message service with animated 3-D avatars signing the conversation as it is happening.
Mini adventures An apprenticeship can be the start of an adventure of life and Train Ltd challenged visitors to guess how many balloons were in the Mini and offered fresh candyfloss.
Counting the ways to success
Accountancy training provider Kaplan stand had an interactive apprenticeship quiz; winners received a £5 music voucher.
There will be lots of different companies and employers, colleges and universities, training providers and expert advisers on hand to help you find the right route to your perfect career. So if you are looking for a job when you leave school, or you want to discover the best college course, or just need some help and advise come along.
Performances
If you need to a take a break from all the great interactive features you can enjoy sparkling performances from students and experts from across the North East region.
Happening on the performance stage during both open days, there will be something to keep you entertained as the region’s top students show off their performance skills.
In 2011 music students from Newcastle College’s School of Creative Industries performed a mix of current hits as well as exciting original material.
First year students re-created a mix of songs taken from Glastonbury festival, while second year students are 2011 WorldSkills Silver medallists and Battle of the Bands winners.
Performing Arts students from Newcastle College’s School of Creative Industries also did 15 minutes of musical entertainment. The 40 strong choir performed songs and medleys from famous West End shows including Rent, High School Musical and many more.
Fashion students from Newcastle College’s School of Creative Industries showcased garments in a fabulous fashion catwalk show
